My university’s AIChE club is trying to brainstorm ways that we can apply our engineering knowledge to community service. We are located in a sort of blue-collar neighborhood, and we’ve been thinking that we’d really like to do some sort of “Greening the Neighborhood” type project…are we legally allowed to offer our services in home improvement? Are we liable for any dissatisfaction (hopefully there wouldn’t be any!) on the part of the recipients? We live in the Boston area, and any advice (legally, creatively, philosophically…) would be very much appreciated.
