Can I be sued for workers compensation?
If I were to hire someone to help me work on my house – home improvement projects like painting, light carpentry, etc. – can that person sue me if they claim to have injured themselves working on my property? If so, to what extent can I be held liable?
I’m asking ’cause I’m debating on whether to use instead, a temp from a temporary agency. That will cost me 2.5 to 3 times more than paying someone cash but, they will be insured by the agency.
Has anyone had an experience like this? I’m trying to save myself some money in these terrible times.
