What has become of my beloved Cadbury Creme Egg?
I used to love these little gems when I was a kid. I have a picture of myself on Easter morning at about 8 years old, sitting beside my Easter basket with a creme egg halfway in my mouth and a look of intense satisfaction on my face.
I’ve noticed something about my nostalgic Easter goody in the last few years, however. That heavenly oozing cream filling is often replaced with a thick and pasty muck that truly disappoints and ruins the whole Creme Egg experience. Most of the time I won’t even deign to eat one of these imposters, and sadly it seems impossible to predict which type you will end up with.
Does anyone have any inside info on the Creme Egg? Why are they so inconsistent, and what can I do to ensure that I end up with that heavenly liquid gold instead of some gunk that I could use as spackle in my home improvement projects.
