Will a sandbox attract fleas? I want to build our puppy a designated place for digging.?
We have a puppy who is a digger. She is a 4 month old Miniature Australian Shepherd. She is not bored or underexcersised. We spend ALOT of time playing, running, walking, and otherwise entertaining her. She actually engages in digging tio hide toys/treats or when she is overly stimulated. She especially tends to dig around my plants, which I just composted using manure. Oops, I didn’t think about this a few weeks ago, before we adopted her. We have a large yard that is beautifully landscaped and I do work in the garden on a regular basis. Our puppy is very intelligent and learns quickly, so I thought I would try to give her a designated digging place. As my son was digging in the unplanted section of the garden one day, she joined in the fun. I was thinking a large sandbox, but I’m worried about fleas. Would a box filled with topsoil (which is in the garden) be best? Has anyone had any success with a designated digging place for their dog?
