i’ve received a treat via e-mail…can i do something about it?

i’m a labor, i used to do electricity and home improvement projects for a man and we had a missunderstanding and he stopped talking to me and now he does not want to pay me my last check of a $1000.00 and i told him that would tell the police and this men is now sending me treats via e-mail, what can i do? i really have no idea i’m hispanic and don’t really now where to go or what to do in this case…
