Found a 3-4 year old laptop in the basement…sound doesn’t work?
I’ve been coming back to my parents house on the weekends to do some home improvement projects for them, and was cleaning out the basement when I found my dad’s old laptop. He sent it in RMA because sound stopped working, and the technicians said he’d have to replace the mobo. I’m guessing its something to do with soldering…everything else on the laptop is perfect, and just loaded it with office software and some games for my neice to play when they drive up to boston next week which is 10 hours away.
Before I open the laptop up, would it just be some loose soldering I could re-solder? I’ve done computer repairs before, just never to the point of having to solder something tho.
