What’s that thing in front of your face, and can we get back to our game?

My computer:
-AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core processor TK-57 (1.9 GHz, 2 x 256 KB L2 cache)
-2.75GB of memory (RAM)
-Up to 751MB NVIDIA GeForce 7000M (nForce 610M)
-A lot of free hard drive space, so no worries there.
It needs to be a game that I can play online and that still has a decent online community (my standards for ‘decent’ are pretty low as I used to play AoM online when there was only an average of slightly less than 400 people online). In case it matters, I download all my games via torrents.
As for genre, I’m pretty flexible. The only genres I don’t like are sport games/racing games. Preferably it should be a game with a post-WW2 setting, but that doesn’t really matter. Some of my favorite games all-time (PC and console) have been: Age of Mythology (Real-time strategy), Tom Clancy’s Endwar (Real-time tactics), SimCity 4 (City-building), Spore (God game), Battlefield 1942 (First-person shooter), Killzone 2 (First-person shooter), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (First-person shooter), Grand Theft Auto IV (Sandbox), Company of Heroes (Real-time strategy).
I already have ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2′ on the PS3 so I won’t try to get it for PC.

I mentioned Spore amongst some of my all-time favorite games, however I must say that I only liked it for a short while. It was a big disapointment compared to what it should have been (it was actually kinda childish) and it was very glitchy and even though I legally bought the game, I had problems with all the anti-piracy stuff.

I noticed there’s a lot of virtual pet games online. Such as furry-paws(dogs) cat-tails(cats) and Sledzz(huskies and other sled/working breeds). But one thing though I haven’t seen a virtual pet pigeon game. Except sandbox farm(farm animals/livestock) where you have to get up to a certain level to build a loft and buy pigeons.
My idea for a virtual pet pigeon game would be you start of with your own loft and you have to purchase pigeons for it. These can be various breeds and can be purchased from either a petstore or another player. Basically in the game you can own, breed, train and enter your birds in contests but you also need a job to be able to buy supplies, pay for vet visits and entry fees for contests. Birds can be be allowed to breed with another player’s pigeon through a stud/breeding request.
Is there any kind specific software or website needed to make a virtual pet game?
